Mr. K’s Calico Gardens

The term calico was originally used to describe a plain woven fabric (originally made in India).  The centuries wore on and calico became one of the first fabrics to be mass produced during the industrial revolution in Britain.

Today calico describes plainly woven cotton fabric, but those especially printed with a small, colorful allover floral.  Used as the foundation of so many quilt patterns in the mid 20th century, Whistler Studios encourages you to get back to basics with Mr. K's Calicos.
